Project:
Residential Development
Bottom Line: Established environmental requirements and monitored cleanup for client's construction of 175 homes on a former oil-producing property.
Summary of Project
The client was building 175 home sites on an approximately 50-acre oil-producing property purchased by the client. The property was being investigated and remediated by a consultant working for the former property owner.
- Reviewed previous site assessment and investigation reports and prepared a summary report as a first task.
- Provided oversight of the other consultant’s remedial activities that included excavation, onsite bioremediation, onsite placement of treated soil, and offsite disposal.
- Prepared a work plan for confirmation soil sampling to meet published cleanup levels for petroleum-hydrocarbon-contaminated sites. Also assisted in assessing the disposition of stormwater runoff and impacts.
- Completed review and remedial response input for methane impacts from soil gas sampling at multiple depths across the property.
- Helped procure environmental liability insurance for the site cleanup costs, at the client’s request.
