PROJECT MANAGER
Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead and execute environmental projects from start to finish. In this role, you will manage project planning, budgeting, and execution while ensuring compliance with deadlines and quality standards.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Prepare feasibility studies, regulatory design submittals, permit applications, and project schedules.
- Analyze and interpret data from investigations, performance monitoring, and treatment system operations.
- Develop technical work plans, progress reports, site assessments, and closure reports.
- Lead field investigations related to soil/groundwater contamination and vapor intrusion.
- Manage operation and maintenance of remediation systems.
Project Management Duties:
- Oversee field programs including investigation, data collection, and sampling, health and safety monitoring, and remediation.
- Engage with clients to define project goals and objectives and facilitate project execution to meet their expectations.
- Plan and allocate staff resources effectively.
- Delegate technical tasks, provide staff training, and communicate project updates and feedback to Upper Management.
- Prepare and deliver presentations for technical meetings with clients and regulators.
- Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets. Identify and document project risks and changes through corporate change management protocols.
- Ensure quality control of project deliverables with technical and editorial reviews.
Who You Are:
- Detail-oriented and organized professional with strong problem-solving skills.
- Capable of supervising and leading contractors, co-workers, and other professionals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the environmental field, including operations and maintenance of remediation systems, Phase II investigations, and remedial design.
- Bachelor’s degree in geology, engineering, or environmental science required; technical references preferred.
- Professional licensure in geology or engineering and junior project management experience are advantageous, but Orion provides support for licensure.
- Current 40-hour HAZWOPER training is desirable.
- Must be in good health to perform field tasks and pass a respirator fit test.
Location:
Hybrid positions available in Long Beach, Berkeley, or Newbury Park, California.
How Much:
Competitive salary commensurate with experience, starting from $85,000 to $115,000 annually, with 80 hours of vacation time to start, 80 hours of sick time to take care of yourself, your loved ones, and pets, full medical, vision, and dental benefits, and 401(k) plan with employer contribution. Orion also offers many holidays each year to spend with your community, including your birthday.
