Project:
Residential Development
Bottom Line: Investigated impacts from pesticides and methane at former plant nursery being redeveloped for home construction.
Summary of Project
The client was planning to construct homes on an approximately 40-acre property, which was formerly a plant nursery. The property was investigated in a phased sampling program as historical site information was revealed.
- Reviewed previous site assessment and investigation reports to determine focus of field investigations.
- Coordinated initial soil sampling during the geotechnical field program. Samples were collected for hydrocarbon and pesticide/herbicide analyses.
- Designed the second phase of the sampling program to evaluate potential subsurface impacts from landfilling operations of the property owner.
- Completed delineation of subsurface methane gas impacts along a former 25-foot-deep canyon and then assisted in the volume estimates and remedial cost evaluation.
