He survived! We’re super excited and proud to announce that Long Beach-based senior staff geologist David is now a Registered Professional Geologist in California! David persevered the rigorous three-part exam that covers fundamentals and practice of geology as well as California-specific topics. The exam is no walk in the park. Here’s a sample question from the website of the Board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists:
A geologist working in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada is observing construction of an access road into a new development area. During construction, a pit containing mineralized waste rock from a previous prospect was encountered. What should be done with the exposed material?
Uhhhhhh, I don’t know bro ask David! So, what is he going to do with all of his free time?
“I plan to spend my free time on house projects, baking more bread, and expanding my homebrewing repertoire.”
Sounds way better than cramming for the PG exam! Congratulations David!
